Duke of Edinburgh Awards

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a personal development programme which recognises candidates journey of self development.

The youth work team run Bronze, Silver and Gold level awards through the Open Awards Centre in Oldham.

The programme is nationally accredited and puts the individual at the centre of their learning.

Learning is practical and theory based and focuses on personal development skills such as team working, social interaction and problem solving.

The youth work team can also provide support to schools who may already run the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award within school, or who may be interested in introducing the award within school.

Support ranges from delivery of whole courses, to delivery of the expedition elements only, or simply support for setting up the course.
